Psalm 116: I Will Walk in the Presence of the Lord

GC 108 - Richard Proulx

Lyrics

Refrain
I will walk in the presence of the Lord in the land of the living.

Verse 1
I love the Lord, for the Lord has heard the cry of my appeal.
The Lord was attentive to me  in the day when I called.

Verse 2
They surrounded me, the snares of death, with the anguish of the tomb;
they caught me, sorrow and distress.
I called on the Lord's name. O Lord, my God, deliver me!

Verse 3
How gracious is the Lord, and just; our God has compassion.
The Lord protects the simple hearts; I was helpless so God saved me.

Verse 4
Turn back, my soul, to your rest  for the Lord has been good,
and has kept my soul from death,  (my eyes from tears,) my feet from stumbling.

Verse 5
I will walk in the presence of the Lord in the land of the living.
Praise the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit, for ever and ever.
